MUSIB: musical score inpainting benchmark

چکیده
Abstract Music inpainting is a sub-task of automated music generation that aims to infill incomplete musical pieces help musicians in their composition process. Many methods have been developed for this task. However, we observe tendency each method be evaluated using different datasets and metrics the papers where they are presented. This lack standardization hinders an adequate comparison these approaches. To tackle problems, present MUSIB, new benchmark score with standardized conditions evaluation reproducibility. MUSIB evaluates four models: Variable Length Piano Infilling (VLI), InpaintNet, SketchNet, AnticipationRNN, over two commonly used datasets: JSB Chorales IrishFolkSong. We also compile, extend, propose adequately quantify note attributes such as pitch rhythm Note Metrics , but higher-level properties introduction Divergence which operate by comparing distance between distributions features. Our shows VLI, model based on Transformer architecture, best performer larger dataset, while VAE-based models surpass Transformer-based relatively small dataset. With aim at inspiring community towards better reproducibility research, setting example strongly founded comparisons among SOTA methods.

Inferring score level musical information from low-level musical data
The task of inferring score level musical information from low-level musical data can be accomplished by human listeners – depending on their training – almost intuitively, but an algorithmic model for computer aided transcription is very hard to achieve. In between there exist a large number of approaches addressing different issues related to the process of musical transcription. Especially f...
متن کاملA Pen-Based Musical Score Editor
We present in this paper a pen-based musical score editor prototype. It allows the user to edit quite the same way as if it was on a sheet of paper, all of his drawing strokes being progressively recognized and replaced by their corresponding symbol by the system, right during the editing. Most of the classical musical symbols are already available, as well as the basic editing possibilities. W...
متن کاملMusical Score Generation in Valses and Etudes
The author describes a recent composition for piano and computer in which the score performed by the pianist, read from a computer display, is generated in real-time from a vocabulary of predetermined scanned score excerpts. The author outlines the algorithm used to choose and display a particular excerpt and describes some of the musical difficulties faced by the pianist in a performance of th...
متن کاملScore Following: An Artificially Intelligent Musical Accompanist
Score Following is the process by which a musician can be tracked through their performance of a piece, for the purpose of accompanying the musician with the appropriate notes. This tracking is done by following the progress of the musician through the score (written music) of the piece, using observations of the notes they are playing. Artificially intelligent musical accompaniment is where a ...
متن کاملA Score-Level Fusion Benchmark Database for Biometric Authentication
Fusing the scores of several biometric systems is a very promising approach to improve the overall system’s accuracy. Despite many works in the literature, it is surprising that there is no coordinated effort in making a benchmark database available. It should be noted that fusion in this context consists not only of multimodal fusion, but also intramodal fusion, i.e., fusing systems using the ...
