چکیده

Abstract Enormous quantities of organic wastes such as sewage sludge (SS) and aquatic weed compost (AWC) are produced in large on the banks Dal Lake Kashmir. It is a challenging task for authorities to manage them properly. Therefore, study’s purpose was evaluate these agricultural use potential. The experiment laid out randomized complete block design with three replications comprised nine treatment combinations SS, AWC inorganic fertilizers. In present study, conjoint SS chemical fertilizer recorded maximum build-up soil microbial biomass carbon (MCB), urease dehydrogenase activity T 1 . There were significant correlations between MCB from ( r 2 = 0.95 0.97; P < 0.05), respectively. micronutrient heavy metal concentrations kale exposed significantly higher than those untreated plants, highest concentration found sole application (T 7 ). However, within acceptable limits did not overcome phytotoxic levels. finding leads conclusion that along fertilizers ) can improve enzymatic soil, quality parameters nutrient content plants thereby enhancing yield.

Heavy metal toxicity: Effect on plant growth, biochemical parameters and metal accumulation by Brassica juncea L.

Plant growth, pigment concentration, biochemical parameters and uptake of heavy metals were determined for Brassica juncea L. in response to cadmium and lead stress. The plant exhibited a decline in growth, chlorophyll content and carotenoids with Cd and Pb but Cd was found to be more detrimental than Pb treatment in B. juncea. The protein content was decreased by Cd (900 μM) to 95% and 44% by ...

Composition and antioxidant activity of kale (Brassica oleracea L. var. acephala) raw and cooked.

BACKGROUND Cabbage vegetables, like Brassica group, are perceived as very valuable food products. They have a very good nutritive value, high antioxidant activity and pro-healthy potential. Especially, kale (Brassica oleracea L. var. acephala) is characterized by good nutritional and pro-healthy properties, but this vegetable is not popular in Poland. The aim of this work was to assess the chem...

The Effect of Liming and Sewage Sludge Application on Heavy Metal Speciation in Soil

The aim of this paper is to assess the effect of liming and low doses of municipal sewage sludge (5%, 10%, 15% of the soil mass) on lead, chromium and nickel speciation in soil. The 420-day experiment was carried out in laboratory conditions. In all the samples lead, chromium and nickel concentration was determined with the ICP-AES method, while the content of those metals in different fraction...

The Effect of Compost and Sewage Sludge on Soil Biologic Activities in Salt Affected Soil

Saline soil was amended with 13.3 and 26.6 g kg of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) compost or sewage sludge, and arylsulphatase (ARY), phosphatase (PHO), dehydrogenase (DEH), β-glucosidase (β-GLU), urease (URE) and catalase (CAT) activities as well as physical-chemical properties were determined after 70 day of incubation under laboratory conditions. MSW compost and sewage sludge significantly impr...
