Somatostatin Decorated Quantum Dots Nanoparticles for Targeting of Somatostatin Receptors
Due to the unique optical properties like high brightness and narrow emission bands of Quantum dots, it is used as simple fluorescence materials in bio-imaging, immunoassays, microarrays, and other applications. To easy invistigate cell lines that overexpressed somtostatin receptors, somatostatin (SST) was conjugated with Quantum dots carrying PEG amine (Qdots-PEG-NH2). The conjugation of SST t...

متن کاملA multivalent DNA aptamer specific for the B-cell receptor on human lymphoma and leukemia
Long-term survival still eludes most patients with leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. No approved therapies target the hallmark of the B cell, its mIgM, also known as the B-cell receptor (BCR). Aptamers are small oligonucleotides that can specifically bind to a wide range of target molecules and offer some advantages over antibodies as therapeutic agents. Here, we report the rational engineer...
متن کاملBacterial toxin inhibitors based on multivalent scaffolds.
Protein toxins released by certain intestinal bacteria are the cause of many diarrhoeal diseases including cholera and travellers' diarrhoea. The toxins enter their target cells by first binding to specific glycolipids in the cell membrane. Inhibition of these protein-carbohydrate interactions has the potential to prevent the toxins from reaching their site of action, and thus avoid the ensuing...
متن کاملConducting polymer nanoparticles decorated with collagen mimetic peptides for collagen targeting.
We report on the formation of conducting polymer nanoparticles (CPNs), stabilized by a collagen mimetic peptide (CMP)-polymer amphiphile. CPNs ranging from ∼15 to 40 nm were readily accessible upon modifying the amphiphile concentration. Surface presentation of CMPs on CPN precluded intra-/inter-particle trimerization, while preserving their ability to target collagen without pre-activation.
