Multiple Optimization of Cutting Parameters Affecting Kerf Formation and Surface Roughness in Laser Cutting of Al 5052 Alloy

In cutting with laser, appropriate parameters should be selected according to the material being cut. Incorrectly affect dimensional accuracy and surface quality of cut sheets. this study, 3 mm thick Al 5052 sheet was laser operation. Kerf formation roughness sheets were investigated. order obtain optimum results fewer experiments, L18 (21x32) experimental design made Taguchi method. Azote gas used during cutting. 9 12 bar pressure, 3000-4000-5000 mm/min speed 2500-3000-3500 W power as parameters. At end upper kerf width (KWT), lower (KWB), taper (KT) avarage (Ra) measured. multiple analysis performed determine at minimum values. CS most effective parameter for KWB KT. For KWT Ra, P. optimizations, ideal found GP 10,1029 bar, 5000 P 2500 W.
