چکیده

The dissolution and microfluidic mass transfer of carbon dioxide in water at high-pressure conditions are crucial for a myriad technological applications, including microreactors, extractions, capture, utilization, sequestration (CCUS) processes. In this experimental work, we use method to elucidate the process CO2 high pressure. An intriguing multiphase flow dispersions observed when operating pressure-temperature ($P$-$T$) condition close gas-liquid phase boundary ($P=6.5$ MPa $T=23.5\pm 0.5~^{\circ}$C). We propose series strategies unravel complex multi-phase dynamics by calculating each phase's volume change coexistent dispersion, estimating possible concentration water, comparing with solubility data. Finally, quantify directly rate volumetric coefficient ($k_{L}a$). results show that may be influenced specific area ($a$), gradient slug, traveling speed dispersion.

All-aqueous multiphase microfluidics.

Immiscible aqueous phases, formed by dissolving incompatible solutes in water, have been used in green chemical synthesis, molecular extraction and mimicking of cellular cytoplasm. Recently, a microfluidic approach has been introduced to generate all-aqueous emulsions and jets based on these immiscible aqueous phases; due to their biocompatibility, these all-aqueous structures have shown great ...

Scalable attoliter monodisperse droplet formation using multiphase nano-microfluidics

We demonstrate a robust method to produce monodisperse femtoliter to attoliter droplets by using a nano-microfluidic device. Two immiscible liquids are forced through a nanochannel where a steady nanoscopic liquid filament forms, thinning close to the nanochannel exit to a microchannel due to the capillary focusing. When the nanoscopic filament enters the microchannel, monodisperse droplets are...

Accelerated formation of cubic phases in phosphatidylethanolamine dispersions.

By means of x-ray diffraction we show that several sodium salts and the disaccharides sucrose and trehalose strongly accelerate the formation of cubic phases in phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) dispersions upon temperature cycling through the lamellar liquid crystalline-inverted hexagonal (Lalpha-HII) phase transition. Ethylene glycol does not have such an effect. The degree of acceleration increa...

Multiphase Mass Transfer in Iron and Steel Refining Processes

In the present chapter, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model for multiphase flow was developed, allowing the simulation of two different processes, the desulfurization of hot metal in a ladle mechanically agitated by an impeller (KR process) and the desulfuri‐ zation of steel in a gas-agitated ladle. The model gives important information to charac‐ terize the fluid flow conditions, to def...

Heat and Mass Transfer in Turbulent Multiphase Channel Flow

Direct numerical simulation is used to assess the importance of compressibility in turbulent channel flow of a mixture of air and water vapor with dispersed water droplets. The dispersed phase is allowed to undergo phase transition, which leads to heat and mass transfer between the phases. We compare simulation results obtained with an incompressible formulation with those obtained for compress...
