چکیده
Burnt deposits are an important source of information on ancient lifestyles, providing the possibility reconstructing size, intensity use, and functions fi replaces at prehistoric settlements, to assess fuel sources. We outline results a multidisciplinary study their contexts Surungur—a stratifi ed site in Fergana Valley, southern Kyrgyzstan. Sixteen samples from ash lenses intermediate were studied by rock-magnetism, gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS), X-ray fl uorescence (XRF). The rock-magnetic analysis suggests that origin all was anthropogenic. Types reconstructed. At initial stage (Early Holocene), encompassing likely resulted short-term occupation, consisted wood grass/ dung. In Middle Holocene, occupation became more long-term, as evidenced maximal heating temperatures high concentration replaces. During Late habitation platform under stone ledge remained same, but less intense. Wood grass/dung used stages, suggesting available region throughout Holocene.

Dog ownership, dog behaviour and transmission of Echinococcus spp. in the Alay Valley, southern Kyrgyzstan
Echinococcosis is a re-emerging zoonotic disease in Kyrgyzstan, and the incidence of human infection has increased substantially since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Domestic dogs are hosts of Echinococcus spp. and play an important role in the transmission of these parasites. The demography, ecology and behaviour of dogs are therefore relevant in studying Echinococcus spp. transmiss...

Valley-filling deposits of the Nama Group, southern Namibia, record two episodes of erosional downcutting and backfill, developed close together in time near the Ediacaran-Cambrian boundary. Geochronological constraints indicate that the older valley fill began 539.4 ± 1 Ma or later; the younger of these deposits contains unusually well-preserved populations of the basal Cambrian trace fossil T...
متن کاملSouthern Circumpolar Crater Ice Deposits on Mars
Introduction: Layered deposits at the poles of Mars are thought to preserve a record of past climatic conditions in up to 3 km of water ice and dust. Just beyond the extent of the south polar layered deposits (SPLD), dozens of impact craters in the heavilycratered southern highlands contain mounds of fill material. Many of these crater-filling deposits (CFDs) appear to be outliers of the main S...
