چکیده
Cognitive radio (CR) has evolved as a novel technology for overcoming the spectrum-scarcity problem in wireless communication networks. With its opportunistic behaviour improving spectrum-usage efficiency, CR enables desired secondary users (SUs) to dynamically utilize idle spectrum owned by primary users. On sensing identify frequency bands, proper spectrum-allocation mechanisms need be designed provide an effectual use of resource. In this paper, we propose single-sided sealed-bid sequential-bidding-based auction framework that extends channel-reuse property mechanism efficiently redistribute unused channels. Existing designs primarily aim at maximizing auctioneer’s revenue, due which certain constraints remain excluded their models. We address two such constraints, viz. dynamics opportunities and varying availability time vacant channels, formulate allocation maximizes utilization spectrum. The auctioneer strategises winner determination based on bids collected from SUs sequentially leases while restricting channel assignment single-channel-multi-user allocation. To model spectrum-sharing mechanism, initially developed group-formation algorithm members group access common channel. Furthermore, pricing algorithms are operated under constrained circumstances, guarantees truthfulness model. An analysis simulation results comparison with existing models revealed effectiveness proposed approach assigning unexploited

Optimal Auction Mechanism for Spectrum Allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks under Uncertain Spectrum Availability
In this paper, we consider the problem of dynamic spectrum allocation in cognitive radio (CR) networks and propose a new sealed-bid auction framework to address the spectrum allocation problem when the spectrum is not available with certainty. In our model, we assume that the moderator plays the dual role of being a fusion center (FC) for spectrum sensing and an auctioneer for spectrum allocati...

متن کاملTRADE: A truthful online combinatorial auction for spectrum allocation in cognitive radio networks
Auctions have been shown to be able to tackle the problem of spectrum scarcity effectively, but most of existing works only focus on static scenarios. They cannot deal with the requests of spectrum users as they arrive and leave dynamically. Bidders can either cheat by bidding untruthfully or cheat about the arrival and departure time. In this paper, we model the radio spectrum allocation probl...
متن کاملAuction and Game-Based Spectrum Sharing in Cognitive Radio Networks
One of the main reasons behind the concurrent increase in the demand for and congestion of Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum is the rapid development of radio networks of all kinds in our world, which has defiantly changed the public feeling about radio. Nowadays, almost everybody has a mobile phone and radio stations are literary everywhere. Someone can argue that our world is becoming a radio wor...

Cognitive radio is a promising approach to make efficient use of spectrum by rapidly adapting the changes in wireless environment. In such networks, nodes are expected to be aware of their environment and must be able to learn from the outcomes of past decisions. Game theory which comprise of analytical tools designed to study interactive decision-making processes can be applied effectively to ...
