Multi-Person Passive WiFi Indoor Localization with Intelligent Reflecting Surface

The past years have witnessed increasing research interest in achieving passive human localization with commodity WiFi devices. However, due to the fundamental limited spatial resolution of signals, it is still very difficult achieve accurate existing To tackle this problem, paper, we propose exploit degree freedom provided by Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS), which composed a large number controllable reflective elements, modulate distribution signals and thus break down limitation localization. Specifically, single-person scenario, derive closed-form solution optimally control phase shift IRS elements. In multi-person Side-lobe Cancellation Algorithm eliminate near-far effect multiple persons an iterative manner. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that without any change infrastructure, proposed framework can locate moving passively sub-centimeter accuracy under multipath interference random noise.
