چکیده
Abstract Multi-decadal prediction of estuarine sedimentation with high-fidelity hydromorphodynamic models presents high computation costs, especially when accounting for stochasticity and uncertainty. A StochAstic model Multi-decadaL Estuarine Sedimentation (SeAMLESS) is formulated here to support a specific decision-need related resilience planning coastal management: estimating future dredging within basin different scenarios sea level rise rules dredging. SeAMLESS combines reduced-dimension process response-surface surrogate yield an ordinary differential equation that can be integrated over stochastic time series storm events. Applications show predict probabilities amounts minimal loss accuracy, compared model, while delivering O ( 10 4 − 5 ) reduction in computational costs.

Sea-level Rise Forecast Model
The paper analyzes the melting pace of ice cap in the North Pole and its influence on the rising sea level. The paper constructs the linear and non-linear models between rising sea level and the year by quoting data from Florida Tide Gage Station. The paper also contrasts the two models and selects the non-linear model. By adopting the model, the paper predicts the height of rising sea level ev...
متن کاملAdaptive Management of Migratory Birds Under Sea Level Rise
The best practice method for managing ecological systems under uncertainty is adaptive management (AM), an iterative process of reducing uncertainty while simultaneously optimizing a management objective. Existing solution methods used for AM problems assume that the system dynamics are stationary, i.e., described by one of a set of pre-defined models. In reality ecological systems are rarely s...
متن کاملContemporary sea level rise.
Measuring sea level change and understanding its causes has considerably improved in the recent years, essentially because new in situ and remote sensing observations have become available. Here we report on most recent results on contemporary sea level rise. We first present sea level observations from tide gauges over the twentieth century and from satellite altimetry since the early 1990s. W...
متن کاملSea level rise projections for northern Europe under RCP8.5
Sea level rise poses a significant threat to coastal communities, infrastructure, and ecosystems. Sea level rise is not uniform globally but is affected by a range of regional factors. In this study, we calculate regional projections of 21st century sea level rise in northern Europe, focusing on the British Isles, the Baltic Sea, and the North Sea. The input to the regional sea level projection...
متن کاملGlobal Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Level Rise Estimation with Optimal Historical Time Lag Data
Prediction of global temperatures and sea level rise (SLR) is important for sustainable development planning of coastal regions of the world and the health and safety of communities living in these regions. In this study, climate change effects on sea level rise is investigated using a dynamic system model (DSM) with time lag on historical input data. A time-invariant (TI-DSM) and time-variant ...
