چکیده
Abstract Adsorption is an important phenomenon widely used for the removal of contaminants. Several drinking water contaminants such as arsenic and fluoride, vanadium chromium, nickel, cadmium cobalt are found to coexist in nature multi-component mixtures water. Hence, modeling adsorption isotherms designing treatment systems has gained importance recently. However, review studies competitive limited. The current paper summarizes twenty-six isotherm models. Also, case several common mechanisms discussed. Furthermore, a analysis four models three commonly two-component systems, i.e., cadmium-nickel, nickel–cobalt, cadmium-cobalt, reported. Extended Langmuir isotherm, Competitive Langmuir–Freundlich Freundlich were applied study Cd, Ni, Co. goodness fit parameters constants estimated these factors influencing adsorption, various single models, their significance, limitations also discussed this article. Highlights • Twenty-six ten single-component compiled Factors affecting applications binary contaminant presented. Graphical

A New Approach in Regression Analysis for Modeling Adsorption Isotherms
Numerous regression approaches to isotherm parameters estimation appear in the literature. The real insight into the proper modeling pattern can be achieved only by testing methods on a very big number of cases. Experimentally, it cannot be done in a reasonable time, so the Monte Carlo simulation method was applied. The objective of this paper is to introduce and compare numerical approaches th...
متن کاملAmmonium Adsorption on Natural Zeolite (clinoptilolite): Adsorption Isotherms and Kinetics Modeling
A batch sorption process for removal of ammonium ions from aqueous solution using natural zeolite was studied. Tree different particle sizes of zeolite (1-2 mm, 2-4 mm and 4-10 mm) were used in the experiments. Sorption of ammonium ions on natural zeolite were carried out at 298 K with the initial concentrations of ammonium in the range of 1000 – 7000 mg NH4 -N/dm. Equilibrium data were fitted ...
متن کاملMathematical Modeling of Single and Multi-Component Adsorption Fixed Beds to Rigorously Predict the Mass Transfer Zone and Breakthrough Curves
The aim of the present work is to prepare an adsorption package to simulate adsorption / desorption operation for both single and multi-component systems in an isothermal condition by different mechanisms such as; local adsorption theory and mass transfer resistance (rigorous and approximated methods). Different mass transfer resistance mechanisms of pore, solid and bidispersed diffusion, t...
متن کاملWater adsorption isotherms of lipids.
Hydration of bilayer lipids is a fundamental property of biological membranes. The available database of lipid hydration isotherms is fitted over the entire range of water activities by using a statistical mechanical approach that is an extension of the common Brunauer-Emmett-Teller model, to include differential energies of association for water molecules beyond the first strongly bound layer....
متن کاملApplicable models for multi-component adsorption of dyes: a review.
Adsorption is one of the several techniques that has been successfully used for dyes removal. Since most industrial colored effluents contain several components including dyes, having a strong knowledge about the scope of competitive adsorption process is a powerful key to design an appropriate system. This is mainly because of the complexity brought about by the increasing number of parameters...
