“Mugs”, “Rehabilitation”, and “Stitched Up”

Smith’s poetry asks questions of crime and punishment from the victims’ perpetrators’ perspectives. In “Mugs” an easy victim reflects on burglar his house. “Rehabilitation” a former prisoner returns to prison, converted into gentrified townhouses. “Stitched” Up boredom, inanity, banality, soft pain prison life is exposed.
