چکیده

Objective Although several mucosal flap techniques have been reported to improve the outcomes in Draf IIb and III procedures, there is scant knowledge on frontal ostium neo-osteogenesis after reconstruction with mucosa flap. This study evaluates potential benefits of flaps sinus drill-out procedures. Methods Forty-three patients who underwent extended were enrolled. Among them, 20 had neo-ostium (FNO) reconstructed by (group A), 23 did not B). The cross-sectional area FNO, frontonasal bone, amount (FNOG) measured OsiriX®. In addition, Global Osteitis Scoring Scale (GOSS), Lund–Mackay score (LMS), Lund–Kennedy (LKS) also evaluated. Results At one year postoperatively, remaining was significantly larger group A (p = .001), less FNOG < .05). month 12 postoperative GOSS decreased A. contrast, it slightly increased B. Both average LKS LMS reduced groups B at postoperatively. Still, than that Conclusion Coverage bare bone could prevent excessive keep open widely. Level Evidence 2b

Special Topic Buccal Mucosal Flaps: A Review

The defects of mucosal surfaces of the face, either congenital, traumatic, or postoperative, have been prominent subjects of plastic surgery. Local skin flaps and free flaps have been used to repair these defects. Because the face is the most vascularized portion of the body, skin flaps in this area have a great chance for viability. Buccal mucosa also shares the same feature of vascularity and...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of urethral coverage by a single- or double-layered dorsal dartos flap after tubularized incised-plate (TIP) repair of hypospadias on fistula formation. PATIENTS AND METHODS In this retrospective study we evaluated sequential patients with hypospadias who underwent TIP urethroplasty with a dorsal dartos interpositional flap between April 2008 and December 2009...
