Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the palate: a rare case report

<p class="abstract">The salivary glands home of several tumoral pathologies, diversified by their locations and histological types. Described as a rare malignant tumor the accessory glands, more so in palatine bone; diagnosis Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (CME) remains difficult to evoke due uncommonness clinical signs insidious evolution. The purpose this case report is discuss manifestation, diagnosis, treatment follow-up plan case. A 39-year-old patient, with no prior pathological history, presents painless swelling on palate evolving for 4 years causing swallowing difficulties without any other signs, clinical, radiographic histopathological investigations were carried out excision lesion. Biopsy lesion confirmed mucoepidermoid palate, following which wide surgical adjacent free margins was performed, additional consisted bilateral functional lymph node dissection groups I, II III. patient shows good improvement local condition 18 months, after 36 radiotherapy sessions recurrence. On control CT scan placement an obturator palatal prosthesis improve quality life awaiting flap. This highlights need appropriate cases tumors, can lead morbidity mortality.</p>
