MoS2-Cysteine Nanofiltration Membrane for Lead Removal

To overcome the limitations of polymers, such as trade-off relationship between water permeance and solute rejection, well difficulty functionalization, research on nanomaterials is being actively conducted. One representative graphene, which has a two-dimensional shape chemical tunability. Graphene usually used in form graphene oxide treatment field because it advantages high functionality its surface. However, there problem that lacks physical stability under water-contacted conditions due to hydrophilicity. this problem, MoS2, similar hydrophobicity, can be new option. In study, bulk MoS2 was dispersed mixed solvent acetone/isopropyl alcohol, nanosheet obtained by applying sonic energy exfoliate. addition, Cysteine functionalized with mild reaction. When nanofiltration (NF) performance membrane compared various conditions, composite incorporated 10 wt % (vs. MoS2) showed best NF performances.
