Morphological Characterization of Twenty One Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) Genotypes Collected from Native and Alien Sources

Sweet pepper is one of the most important nutritious vegetable and its demand increasing day by in Bangladesh indicating need to characterize assess morphological variability for varietal improvement programme. Twenty-one sweet genotypes from native alien sources were characterized twenty-six traits using vegetative reproductive appearances at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, October 2018 March 2019. Marked variation was exhibited among qualitative (26) studied. Twenty-two (22) characters showed undeniable genotypes. The presence higher percentage (61.90%) light purple color node observed indicated high amount anthocyanin content. Leaf shape used as identifier stage herein three types leaves found with dark green (76.19%) that highly correlates yield. In case flower, same level stigma exertion 100% white corolla indicates number fruit sett exhibited. Entire exerted or more exclusive especially perspective which could be an breeding tools.
