Morphological and morphometric adaptations of testes in broilers induced by glucocorticoid

Glucocorticoids (GCs) cause excess fat accumulation, which leads to fertility dysfunction in broilers. The study investigated alterations the morphology and morphometry of testes broilers response GC dexamethasone (DEX). Male day-old chicks were randomly divided into a control group three experimental groups (E1, E2, E3). was fed commercial broiler ration. ration containing (i.e. DEX 3, 5, 7 mg/kg, respectively). collected stained with haematoxylin eosin count number testicular seminiferous tubules. An increase tubule initially seen, declined as both age dose increased. Morphometric measurements, i.e., capsule thickness, diameter, epithelium height, performed. initial thickening evident. There depletion interstitial (Leydig) cell population increased advancement. diameter tubules thickness remained upregulated treatment DEX. height suggests that greatly alters morphological architecture testes; result, it could be said has effect on infertility by affecting well functionality testes.
