Morphine at inflammatory experimental pain: A review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Pain is a complex entity that can be described in several dimensions, such as, acute pain and chronic pain, characterized by its duration. After the tissue injury, activation of sensory nervous occurs from where different pro-inflammatory mediators are released with consequent nociceptive transmission characterizes genesis inflammatory pain. The main objective this study was to review role opioid system, using morphine MOR receptors as paradigm, antinociceptive modulation means formalin test model. Various pieces evidence compiled establish fundamental Morphine has noticeable efficacy decrease This demonstrates plays states it could serve basis for new pharmacotherapy

A Review on Experimental Assessments of Pain Threshold in Healthy Human Subjects

A B S T R A C T There are three types of nerve fibers that are involved in the transmission of pain stimuli: C fibers (slower fibers) for thermal, mechanical and chemical stimuli, A-delta fibers for thermal or mechanical stimuli and A-beta fibers for touch stimuli. Clinically, this is crucial in making an accurate assessment of the pain level experienced by a suffering patient, in indicating th...

Chronic morphine use does not induce peripheral tolerance in a rat model of inflammatory pain.

Although opioids are highly effective analgesics, they are also known to induce cellular adaptations resulting in tolerance. Experimental studies are often performed in the absence of painful tissue injury, which precludes extrapolation to the clinical situation. Here we show that rats with chronic morphine treatment do not develop signs of tolerance at peripheral mu-opioid receptors (micro-rec...

Crucial involvement of actin filaments in celecoxib and morphine analgesia in a model of inflammatory pain

BACKGROUND Celecoxib exerted analgesic effects (hypoalgesia) reversed by opioid receptor antagonists in a model of inflammatory pain. To analyze this celecoxib-induced hypoalgesia further, we assessed the effects of several disruptors of cytoskeletal components in our model of inflammation. METHODS Hyperalgesia to mechanical stimuli was induced in rat hind paws by intraplantar injection of ca...
