Moment-Based Spectrum Sensing Under Generalized Noise Channels

چکیده
A new spectrum sensing detector is proposed and analytically studied, when it operates under generalized noise channels. Particularly, the McLeish distribution used to model underlying noise, which suitable for both non-Gaussian (impulsive) as well classical Gaussian modeling. The introduced adopts a moment-based approach, whereas not required know transmit signal channel fading statistics (i.e., blind detection). Important performance metrics are presented in closed forms, such false-alarm probability, detection probability decision threshold. Analytical simulation results cross-compared validating accuracy of approach. Finally, demonstrated that approach outperforms conventional energy practical case uncertainty, yet introducing comparable computational complexity.

Performance Analysis of Cooperative Spectrum Sensing under Noise Uncertainty
Spectrum sensing is a critical technology for primary user detection in cognitive radio networks, in which energy detector is widely used for spectrum sensing due to its generality and low complexity. However, noise uncertainty degrades the sensing performance of energy detection severely because of its dependence on the noise power. In this paper, we take the average power as the decision stat...
متن کاملCooperative Spectrum Sensing over Generalized Fading Channels Based on Energy Detection
This paper analyzes the unified performance of energy detection (ED) of spectrum sensing (SS) over generalized fading channels in cognitive radio (CR) networks. The detective performance of SS schemes will be obviously affected by fading channel between communication nodes, and ED has the advantages of fast implementation, no requirement of priori received information and low complexity, so it ...
متن کاملGoF-Based Spectrum Sensing of OFDM Signals over Fading Channels
Goodness-of-Fit (GoF) based spectrum sensing of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals is investigated in this paper. To this end, some novel local sensing methods based on Shapiro-Wilk (SW), Shapiro-Francia (SF), and Jarque-Bera (JB) tests are first studied. In essence, a new threshold selection technique is proposed for SF and SW tests. Then, three studied methods are appli...
متن کاملSpectrum Sensing Under Hardware Constraints
Direct-conversion radio (DCR) receivers can offer highly integrated low-cost hardware solutions for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio systems. However, DCR receivers are susceptible to radio frequency (RF) impairments, such as in-phase and quadrature-phase imbalance, low-noise amplifier nonlinearities and phase noise, which limit the spectrum sensing capabilities. In this paper, we investigat...
متن کاملSignal Spectrum Sensing Robust to Noise Uncertainty
Lack of robustness against noise uncertainty is a bottleneck of current spectrum sensing strategies to detect the primary signals. Due to noise uncertainty, the performance of traditional detectors such as matched filters, energy detectors, and even cyclostationary detectors deteriorates rapidly at low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). In view of this, a new entropy-based spectrum sensing scheme is ...
