Molecular imprinted polymer for ?-carotene for application in palm oil mill effluent treatment

چکیده
Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is one of the most significant pollutant in form wastewater. It could have negative effects on environment include emission biogas and water pollution which comes from discharging brownish tick POME to bodies if not properly managed. Discharge dark colored directly into may affect aquatic life as it will reduce sunlight penetration suppress photosynthetic activity. A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for removal ?-carotene has been aimed develope this study. The preparation non-imprinted (NIP) involves polymerization (or without it) with ?-cyclodextrin (?-CD), 9-vinylcarbazole (9VC), tolylene diisocyanate (TDI) N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) monomer, co-monomer, cross-linker solvent (porogen), respectively. Analysis FTIR showed that MIP NIP similar characteristic peak different peaks intensity, indicating similarity backbone structure polymerization. TGA result displayed high thermal stability final decomposition at 320 °C MIP-?-CD-9VC compared NIP-?-CD-9VC. pH study shows sorption increased decreasing maximum capacities achieved 2 were 10 ?g/g 7 NIP-?-CD-9VC, by using 500 mg increasing dosage MIP. Kinetic model evaluation applied prepared materials. equilibrium data was well described Freundlich model. results indicated follows a pseudo–second–order kinetic.

متن کاملA Review of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (Pome) Water Treatment
Palm oil is one of the two most important vegetable oils in the world’s oil and fats market. The extraction and purification processes generate different kinds of waste generally known as palm oil mill effluent (POME). The environmental impact of POME cannot be over emphasized; hence the need for treatment measures to reduce these impacts before discharge. Therefore, this paper reviews the proc...

Electrocoagulation (EC) is an electrochemical technique which has been employed in the treatment of various kinds of wastewater. In this work the potential use of EC for the treatment of palm oil mill effluent (POME) was investigated. In a laboratory scale, POME from a factory site in Chumporn Province (Thailand) was subjected to EC using aluminum as electrodes and sodium chloride as supporting...
متن کاملThe Performance Evaluation of Anaerobic Methods for Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) Treatment: A Review
Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is an important source of inland water pollution when released into local rivers or lakes without treatment. In the process of palm oil milling, POME is generat‐ ed through sterilization of fresh oil palm fruit bunches, clarification of palm oil and effluent from hydro-cyclone operations [Borja et al.,1996a]. POME is a viscous brown liquid with fine suspended solid...
