Molecular diversity and genetic lineage of Pinus sylvestris population at Kunpeszér, Kiskunság National Park

نویسندگان

چکیده

We analysed genetic variation of the small Scots pine population from forested area Northern Kiskunság in comparison with other populations Carpathians and Pannonian Basin that we studied earlier by microsatellite markers (SSR). Our results showed indices based on five nuclear SSRs are similar to values detected Hungarian populations. Based STRUCTURE analysis, as well PCoA fits into Western Carpathians-Pannonian lineage did not detect alien genoptypes specific genotypes. Although, natural presence cannot be traced back LGM/early Holocene, habitat characteristics like nutrient-poor sandy substrate extreme ecological conditions site may favor species area. The local forest community including broadleaf dominance pedunculate oak mixed provide an aspect a continental woodland able preserve valuable so elevated biodiversity. Moreover, gene stock most probably adapted environment might represent high economic value.

Genetic population substructure in bison at Yellowstone National Park.

The Yellowstone National Park bison herd is 1 of only 2 populations known to have continually persisted on their current landscape since pre-Columbian times. Over the last century, the census size of this herd has fluctuated from around 100 individuals to over 3000 animals. Previous studies involving radiotelemetry, tooth wear, and parturition timing provide evidence of at least 2 distinct grou...

phylogeography and genetic diversity of the lesser mouse- eared bat (myotis blythii) in iran

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Genetic Diversity among Age Classes of a Pinus sylvestris (L.) Population from the Białowieża Primeval Forest, Poland

The Białowieża Primeval Forest (BPF) is Europe’s last primeval forest and an irreplaceable area for biodiversity conservation due to its size, protection status, and substantially undisturbed nature. There is no other forest in Europe with such a large surface representing highly-advanced natural succession. This article reports on the first analysis of the genetic variability and demographic s...

Low nucleotide diversity at the pal1 locus in the widely distributed Pinus sylvestris.

Nucleotide polymorphism in Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) was studied in the gene encoding phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (Pal, EC 4.3.1.5). Scots pine, like many other pine species, has a large current population size. The observed levels of inbreeding depression suggest that Scots pine may have a high mutation rate to deleterious alleles. Many Scots pine markers such as isozymes, RFLPs, and micro...

Spontaneous Hybridization between Pinus mugo and Pinus sylvestris at the Lithuanian Seaside: A Morphological Survey

We address the problem of spontaneous hybridization between an exotic species Pinus mugo and the native/local P. sylvestris at the seaside spit of Kursiu Nerija in Lithuania. The objective was to identify spontaneous hybrids between P. mugo and P. sylvestris based on morphology traits among the individuals naturally regenerating at the seaside spit. The field inventory was carried out over the ...
