Molecular characterization of bluetongue virus serotype 2

چکیده
Bluetongue is an economically major infectious, arthropod vector borne, viral disease of many free ranging and captive wild animals as well domestic animals. There are serotypes circulating in the world. The current study was undertaken having objective to characterize BTV 2(M11) isolate that engaged for vaccine trial. BHK21 cell lines were utilized cultivation serotype 2 followed by its RNA extracted. Further, Reverse Transcriptase-PCR standardized detection 2by targeting segment 7 (VP7) gene. Characterization at molecular level conducted sequencing VP7 By using available sequences Genbank database, compared. Further analysis denoted that, all nucleotide sequestered into seven phylogenetic clades. homogeneity BTV-2 (M11) with Australian Chinese isolates BTV-15 Taiwan 75%, 66%, 74% respectively. signified nearly compared BTV-12 Brazil BTVTPT.

Epidemiology of Bluetongue Virus Serotype 8, Germany
In Germany, bluetongue disease had not been reported before 2006. During August 2006-August 2008, >24,000 bluetongue virus serotype 8 infections were reported, most (20,635) in 2007. In 2006 and 2007, respectively, case-fatality rates were 6.4% and 13.1% for cattle and 37.5% and 41.5% for sheep. Vaccination in 2008 decreased cases.
متن کاملNovel Bluetongue Virus Serotype from Kuwait
Sheep and goats sampled in Kuwait during February 2010 were seropositive for bluetongue virus (BTV). BTV isolate KUW2010/02, from 1 of only 2 sheep that also tested positive for BTV by real-time reverse transcription-PCR, caused mild clinical signs in sheep. Nucleotide sequencing identified KUW2010/02 as a novel BTV serotype.
متن کاملExperimental bluetongue virus superinfection in calves previously immunized with bluetongue virus serotype 8
The effect of a superinfection with bluetongue virus serotype 1 (BTV1) was evaluated on two groups of four calves. One group received a commercial inactivated BTV serotype 8 (BTV8) vaccine. This group and the non-vaccinated group of calves were challenged twice (4 months apart) with the European BTV8 strain isolated during the 2006-2007 epidemics. Calves were then infected with a BTV1 inoculum ...
متن کاملNovel Serotype of Bluetongue Virus, Western North America
To the Editor: Bluetongue is an arboviral disease of domestic and wild ruminants characterized by vascular injury that produces widespread edema and tissue necrosis (1). Bluetongue virus (BTV), the causative agent of bluetongue, is the prototype virus of the genus Orbivirus in the family Reoviridae (2). BTV occurs throughout temperate and tropical areas of the world coincident with the distribu...
متن کاملMultiple Genome Segments Determine Virulence of Bluetongue Virus Serotype 8
UNLABELLED Bluetongue virus (BTV) causes bluetongue, a major hemorrhagic disease of ruminants. In order to investigate the molecular determinants of BTV virulence, we used a BTV8 strain minimally passaged in tissue culture (termed BTV8L in this study) and a derivative strain passaged extensively in tissue culture (BTV8H) in in vitro and in vivo studies. BTV8L was pathogenic in both IFNAR(-/-) m...
