چکیده
Disease of ear, nose and throat (ENT) affect the functioning adults as well children, often with significant challenge to daily life affected patients. Staphylococcus Pseudomonas species are most prevalent etiologic agent ENT infections. Therefore aim this study was determine antibiogram molecularly Characterized in Ear Throat among Patients Attending Rivers State Teaching Hospital. Total number eighty samples swab, aural (ear) swab were collected aseptically using sterile Evepon sticks sample properly labelled patients' number, date side. The swabs immediately transported a transportation medium cotton plugged test tube microbiology laboratory for further analysis. Qquestionnaires administered degraphic data collections. Each inoculated onto Mannitol salt agar Cetrimide plates isolation respectively. incubated at 37°C examined growth after 24-48 hours. Pure culture isolates primarily identified biochemically confirmed molecular approaches. Antibiogram performed by Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method on Mueller-Hinton according Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guideline. Results shows that out 50 ear 30 samples, 17 (34%) 8 (26.7%) positive spp. While (16%) 4 (13.7%) positive. results fluorescens NR_115715.1, aeruginosa NR_113599.1.
aureus NR_113956.1. predominates isolated from both swabs. revealed commonly uses antibiotics especially Ceftazidime, Cefuroxime, Cloxacillin Gentamicin Augmentin 100% resistant only Ofloxacin, Ceftriaxone Nitrofurantoin susceptible percentage 80.2%, 85.7% 90%. findings points high level frequent indescrimate patient suffering symptoms resulting difficulty treatment infections common antibiotics. It is strongly recommended ccontinuous monitoring patients required preparing antibiograms. These susceptibility will help physician deciding empirical regime

Isolation and Characterization of Coagulase Positive, Methicillin and Multi-Drug Resistant Staphylococcus and Mammaliicoccus species Isolated from of Wound Patients Attending Federal Medical Centre, Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria
Background and objective: The treatment of bacterial infections especially of the family Staphylococcaceae is a significant health burden that has led to economic losses, and high morbidity and mortality rates globally. This study aimed at the isolation and characterization of coagulase-positive, methicillin, and multi-drug-resistant Staphylococci isolated from wounds of patients. Methods: Fo...
متن کاملMolecular characterization of environmental Cladosporium species isolated from Iran
Background and Purpose: Cladosporium species are ubiquitous, saprobic, dematiaceous fungi, only infrequently associated with human and animal opportunisticinfections. Materials and Methods: Airborne samples were collected using the settle plate method, and soil samples were obtained from a depth of 5-10 cm of the superficial soil layer. Samples were cultured on Sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) pla...
متن کاملIsolation and molecular characterization of Cryptococcus species isolated from pigeon nests and Eucalyptus trees
Background and Purpose: Cryptococcus species are pathogenic and non-pathogenic basidiomycete yeasts that are found widely in the environment. Based on phenotypic methods, this genus has many species; however, its taxonomy is presently being re- evaluated by modern techniques. The Cryptococcus species complex includes two sibling taxa of Cryptococcus neoformans and Cryptococcus gattii. We aimed ...
متن کاملPrevalence, Antibiogram and Molecular Characterization of Comunity-Acquired Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus in AWKA, Anambra Nigeria
OBJECTIVES This study evaluated the prevalence, antibiogram and molecular features of CA-MRSA in Awka, Nigeria. METHODS Confirmation of MRSA was done by testing resistance to oxacillin (1µg), cloxacillin (5µg) and cefoxitin (30µg) on sterile Mueller Hinton agar supplemented with 4% sodium chloride. The MRSA strains were subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility testing using Kirby-Bauer disc ...
متن کاملStaphylococcus aureus from the Microbial Load of Open Wounds from Patients Attending Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, Nigeria
Staphylococci are part of human flora found in the axillae, the inguinal, perineal areas, other parts of the skin, and the anterior nares [1]. Persistent carriage is more common in children than in adults. Nasal carriers may be divided into persistent carriers with high risk of infection and intermittent or noncarriers with low risk of infection [2]. It was reported that, among healthy adults, ...
