Molecular and morphological analyses reveal new taxa additions to the tribe Streblocladieae (Rhodomelaceae, Rhodophyta)

چکیده

The recent segregation of 12 genera in the tribe Streblocladieae suggests that taxonomy some species belonging to Polysiphonia sensu lato is updated with transfer and proposal new combinations. Accordingly, six additions on basis morphological molecular analyses are presented as a consequence this segregation. These include description Carradoriella platensis sp. nov., following combinations Eutrichosiphonia paniculata comb. E. tapinocarpa reinstatement Vertebrata curta, V. decipiens, V. patersonis. Additionally, our observations identified additional diagnostic features for two Streblocladieae. has branches sexual reproductive structures arranged adaxially branchlets, recently described rhizoids multicellular digitate haptera. Our study gives insights regards distribution, delimiting morphologically, evolutionary relationships

Morphological and molecular study on some species of Phoma and related taxa in Iran

The genus Phoma Sacc. consists of important fungal plant pathogenic species occurring on economically important cultivated crops in spite of many other saprobic species. Thus, the aim of this study was to identify 35 isolates of Phoma species and related taxa collected from different hosts by means of morphological and molecular characters. Multi-locus phylogenetic analyses based on ITS1-5.8S-I...

Molecular and Morphological Analyses Reveal Phylogenetic Relationships of Stingrays Focusing on the Family Dasyatidae (Myliobatiformes)

Elucidating the phylogenetic relationships of the current but problematic Dasyatidae (Order Myliobatiformes) was the first priority of the current study. Here, we studied three molecular gene markers of 43 species (COI gene), 33 species (ND2 gene) and 34 species (RAG1 gene) of stingrays to draft out the phylogenetic tree of the order. Nine character states were identified and used to confirm th...

Correction: Molecular and Morphological Analyses Reveal Phylogenetic Relationships of Stingrays Focusing on the Family Dasyatidae (Myliobatiformes)

There are errors in identification steps 1a and 1b in the “Key to the families of Order Myliobatiformes” subsection of the Results. The correct step 1a is: Disc broad and laterally expanded with wing like pectoral fin, disc width more than 1.3 times disc length (Fig 5A & 5B). . .. . .2. The correct step 1b is: Disc not greatly expanded, diamond or round shaped, disc width less than 1.3 times di...

Morphological and molecular evidence reveals recent hybridization between gorilla taxa.

Molecular studies have demonstrated a deep lineage split between the two gorilla species, as well as divisions within these taxa; estimates place this divergence in the mid-Pleistocene, with gene flow continuing until approximately 80,000 years ago. Here, we present analyses of skeletal data indicating the presence of substantial recent gene flow among gorillas at all taxonomic levels: between ...

Molecular and morphological analyses of avian eggshell

Using ancient DNA (aDNA) extracted from eggshell of the extinct moa (Aves: Dinornithiformes) we determined the species composition and number of eggs found in a late thirteenth century earth oven feature at Wairau Bar (South Island, New Zealand) – one of New Zealand’s most significant archaeological sites. Mitochondrial and nuclear DNA signatures confirmed this oven feature contained fragments ...
