چکیده
Abstract The phenomena of Dust storm take place in barren and dry regions all over the world. It may cause by intense ground winds which excite dust sand from soft, arid land surfaces resulting it to rise up air. These harmful influences upon health, climate, infrastructure, transportation. GIS remote sensing have played a key role studying detection. This study was conducted Iraq with objective validating techniques been used derive indices using Normalized Difference Index (NDDI) Middle East (MEDI), are based on images MODIS in-situ observation hourly wind speed visibility during May 4-5 2022 25-26 June 2022. In this study, appropriateness two various MODIS-based discover 13 stations examined. results suggest NDDI index is most appropriate identifying storms across Iraq. Also, MEDI has impairment through multiple land-cover forms. Beside that consider an ineffective detect throughout whole kinds cover

identifying and monitoring dust storm in the western part of iran using remote sensing techniques
mineral dust can directly affect the solar and terrestrial radiation in both visible and infrared (ir) spectral regions through scattering and absorption processes. due to specific optical properties of dust particles, satellite observed radiances carry the spectral signatures of dust particles that are different from molecular, cloud, and underlying surface. based on these differences, various...
متن کاملEvaluation of Dust Effects on Spectral Behavior of Plants Using Remote Sensing Data
Introduction Dust is one of the important climatic phenomena that has occurred in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. In recent years, one of the most important environmental issues in the Middle East and Iran is the occurrence of dust phenomena that affects a variety of factors, including human health, plants and other living organisms, economic conditions, and etc. One of the effective ...
متن کاملDetecting Surface Waters Using Data Fusion of Optical and Radar Remote Sensing Sensor
Identification and monitoring of surface water using remote sensing have become very important in recent decades due to its importance in human needs and political decisions. Therefore, surface water has been studied using remote sensing systems and Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 sensors in this study. In this paper, two data fusion approaches and decision fusion improve the accuracy of surface wate...
متن کاملRemote Sensing of Agro-droughts in Guangdong Province of China Using MODIS Satellite Data
A practical approach was developed in the study for drought monitoring in Guangdong province of China on the basis of vegetation supply water index (VSWI) and precipitation distance index (PDI). A comprehensive index for assessment of agro-drought severity (SADI) was then established from the normalized VSWI and PDI. Using MODIS satellite images and precipitation data from ground-observed meteo...
متن کاملDetection of Asian Dust Storm Using MODIS Measurements
Every year, a large number of aerosols are released from dust storms into the atmosphere, which may have potential impacts on the climate, environment, and air quality. Detecting dust aerosols and monitoring their movements and evolutions in a timely manner is a very significant task. Satellite remote sensing has been demonstrated as an effective means for observing dust aerosols. In this paper...
