Modified Polyethersulfone Ultrafiltration Membrane for Enhanced Antifouling Capacity and Dye Catalytic Degradation Efficiency

Catalytic membranes, as a combination of heterogeneous advanced oxidation and membrane technology reaction systems, have important application prospects in the treatment dyes other organics. In practical applications, it is still challenging to construct catalytic membranes with excellent removal efficiency fouling mitigation. Herein, molybdenum disulfide-iron oxyhydroxide (MoS2-FeOOH) was fabricated using iron oxide MoS2 nanoflakes, which were synthesized by hydrothermal method. Furthermore, changing concentration MoS2-FeOOH, MoS2-FeOOH/polyethersulfone (PES) composite ultrafiltration obtained improved hydrophilicity, permeability, antifouling capacity. The pure water flux reached 385.3 L/(m2·h), 1.7 times that blank PES membrane. Compared membrane, increase MoS2-FeOOH content, MoS2-FeOOH/PES had better adsorption capacity performance, 3.0% content (M4) could be achieved at 60.2% methylene blue (MB) degradation rate. addition, recovery ratio (FRR) also increased from 25.6% (M0) more than 70% after two cycles bovine serum albumin (BSA) filtration hydraulic cleaning. 2.25% (M3) best largest FRR smallest irreversible (Rir). self-cleaning M3 recovered 95% initial 0.1 mol/L H2O2 functions rejection good prospect printing dyeing wastewater composed soluble dyes.
