چکیده
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between Low-Quantitative Sepsis-related Organ Failure Assessment (LqSOFA) score and outcomes in pediatric patients with suspected infection. Methods: included 100 who presented emergency department (ED) LqSOFA calculated for each patient based on first set vital signs laboratory values obtained ED. primary interest were intensive care unit (PICU) admission, confirmed sepsis, mortality. Results: found that an >2 predicted PICU admission approximately 88% sensitivity 56% specificity, sepsis 47% specificity. Furthermore, mortality 94% 48% duration hospital stay also increased increasing score. Conclusions: may be a useful tool identifying high-risk infection benefit from early intervention. Future studies are needed validate these findings determine optimal threshold population.

Quick chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure assessment: an easy-to-use scoring model for predicting mortality risk in critically ill cirrhosis patients.
BACKGROUND AND AIM Critically ill cirrhosis patients have an increased risk of morbidity and mortality, even after admission to the ICU. Our objectives were to compare the predictive accuracy of model for end-stage liver disease (MELD), MELD-Na, UK model for end-stage liver disease, and chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure assessment (CLIF-SOFA) by the development and validation of an...

The purpose of the present study was to explore the usefulness of the Mexican sequential organ failure assessment (MEXSOFA) score for assessing the risk of mortality for critically ill patients in the ICU. A total of 232 consecutive patients admitted to an ICU were included in the study. The MEXSOFA was calculated using the original SOFA scoring system with two modifications: the PaO2/FiO2 rati...
متن کاملSequential Organ Failure Assessment Score Can Predict Mortality in Patients with Paraquat Intoxication
INTRODUCTION Paraquat poisoning is characterized by multi-organ failure and pulmonary fibrosis with respiratory failure, resulting in high mortality and morbidity. The objective of this study was to identify predictors of mortality in cases of paraquat poisoning. Furthermore, we sought to determine the association between these parameters. METHODS A total of 187 patients were referred for man...

Background: The ability to recognize the severity of the disease in those who their survival depend entirely on admission to the intensive care unit, is very valuable clinically. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of modified sequential organ failure assessment (MSOFA) scale to predict mortality and length of stay in intensive care unit patients respectively. Methods: Th...
متن کاملSequential Organ Failure Assessment Score Modified for Recent Infection in Patients With Hematologic Malignant Tumors and Severe Sepsis.
BACKGROUND Baseline health status influences outcomes of severe sepsis. OBJECTIVE To determine if recent infection is a marker of poor health in patients with hematologic malignant tumors and severe sepsis by modifying the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score to account for infection. METHODS Medical records of the first 50 patients with hematologic malignant tumors and severe s...
