چکیده
Abstract Interfacial degradation is the main reason for deterioration of mechanical properties composites in hydrothermal environments. In this study, effect interphase on water diffusion two types unidirectional continuous carbon fiber-reinforced polyamide 6 (CF/PA6) investigated through experimental measurements, theoretical analysis, and numerical simulation. The moisture coefficient composite at different environmental temperatures characterized by immersion tests analyzing barrier accelerating effects layer. Based results, three-phase Halpin–Tsai model derived validated, then critical diffusivity obtained to quantify interfacial during process. To further validate present model, stable transient finite element models are developed. It found that CF/PA6 system 7.31 times higher than matrix.

A modified diffusion coefficient technique for the convection diffusion equation
A new modified diffusi on coefficient (MDC) technique for solv ing conve ction diffusion equation is proposed. The Galerkin finite-element discretization process is applied on the modified equation rather than the original one. For a class of one-dimensional convec-tion–diffusion equations, we derive the modi fied diffusion coefficient analytically as a function of the equation coefficients and...
متن کاملSolutions of diffusion equation for point defects
An analytical solution of the equation describing diffusion of intrinsic point defects in semiconductor crystals has been obtained for a one-dimensional finite-length domain with the Robin-type boundary conditions. The distributions of point defects for different migration lengths of defects have been calculated. The exact analytical solution was used to verify the approximate numerical solutio...
متن کاملFinite Element Methods for Convection Diffusion Equation
This paper deals with the finite element solution of the convection diffusion equation in one and two dimensions. Two main techniques are adopted and compared. The first one includes Petrov-Galerkin based on Lagrangian tensor product elements in conjunction with streamlined upwinding. The second approach represents Bubnov/Petrov-Galerkin schemes based on a new group of exponential elements. It ...
متن کاملDiffusion and interfacial transport of water in Nafion.
Water absorption, membrane swelling, and self-diffusivity of water in 1100 equivalent weight Nafion were measured as functions of temperature and water activity. Free volume per water at 80 °C, determined from water uptake and volume expansion data, decreases with water content in the membrane from 12 cm(3)/mol at λ = 0.5 H(2)O/SO(3) to 1.5 cm(3)/mol at λ = 4. The change in free volume with wat...
متن کاملEffect of Atmospheric Ions on Interfacial Water
The effect of atmospheric positivity on the electrical properties of interfacial water was explored. Interfacial, or exclusion zone (EZ) water was created in the standard way, next to a sheet of Nafion placed horizontally at the bottom of a water-filled chamber. Positive atmospheric ions were created from a high voltage source placed above the chamber. Electrical potential distribution in the i...
