Modelling the Impact of Vegetation Change on Hydrological Processes in Bayin River Basin, Northwest China

چکیده
Vegetation change in arid areas may lead to the redistribution of regional water resources, which can intensify competition between ecosystems and humans for resources. This study aimed accurately model impact vegetation on hydrological processes an endorheic river watershed undergoing revegetation, namely, middle lower reaches Bayin River basin, China. A LU-SWAT-MODFLOW was developed by integrating dynamic response units with a coupled SWAT-MODFLOW model, reflect actual land cover changes basin. The outperformed original simulating human activity as well leaf area index, evapotranspiration, groundwater table depth. After evapotranspiration recharge different sub-basins increased significantly. In addition, direction amount surface-water–groundwater exchange changed considerably where revegetation involved converting low-coverage grassland bare forestland.

Impact of climate change on streamflow in the arid Shiyang River Basin of northwest China
Climate change may significantly affect the hydrological cycle and water resource management, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. In this paper, output from the Providing Regional Climates for Impacts Studies (PRECIS) regional climate model were used in conjunction with the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) to analyse the effects of climate change on streamflow of the Xiying and Zamu ...
متن کاملFuture climate change impact on hydrological regime of river basin using SWAT model
Hydrological components in a river basin can get adversely affected by climate change in coming future. Manipur River basin lies in the extreme northeast region of India nestled in the lesser Himalayan ranges and it is under severe pressure from anthropogenic and natural factors. Basin is un-gauged as it lies in remote location and suffering from large data scarcity. This paper explores the imp...
متن کاملHydrological Impacts of Land Use Change and Climate Variability in the Headwater Region of the Heihe River Basin, Northwest China
Land use change and climate variability are two key factors impacting watershed hydrology, which is strongly related to the availability of water resources and the sustainability of local ecosystems. This study assessed separate and combined hydrological impacts of land use change and climate variability in the headwater region of a typical arid inland river basin, known as the Heihe River Basi...

Evolutionary trends of drought under climate change in the Heihe River basin, Northwest China
The present paper focused on the analysis of drought in the Heihe River basin based on daily precipitation data observed at 13 weather stations covered from 1961 to 2010. The spatial and temporal variation of drought was estimated by means of the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), linear regression analysis and inverse distance weighted analysis. The SPI series on 1-month, 3-month, 6-month...
