Modelling Methane Adsorption Isotherms on Shale at Different Temperatures

Prediction of adsorption isotherms under different temperatures is significant to reserve estimation shale gas reservoirs. Based on the Polanyi potential theory and Langmuir theory, a method was presented predict at temperatures. In this method, relationship between pressure temperature quantified. By utilizing we predicted Longmaxi from 45 °C 120 according experimental data 30 °C. Meanwhile, by considering gradients, also capacity with geologic depth. Results show that our are in accord error coefficient less than 5%. addition, isosteric heat for can be calculated based Clausius–Clapeyron equation capillary systems. Therefore, study illustrates theoretical foundations efficient evaluation adsorbed content reservoirs conditions.
