چکیده
Controlling microstructure and density of MgAl2O4 spinel is a crucial step in the elaboration industrial ceramics products. Understanding sintering characteristics key issue to optimize mechanical optical properties. In this paper, Olevsky's model used simulate trajectories spinel. The densification grain growth behaviors were identified via ramping interrupted isothermal cycles highlighting final stage mechanisms change. trajectory intended be powerful numerical tool for optimizations.

Faulted defect aggregates in neutron-irradiated MgAl2O4 spinel
Single crystals of stoichiometric MgA1204 spine1 were neutron-irradiated to fluences (> 0.1 MeV) of 2.8 x loz5 n m-2 (1.5 dpa) at 1015 K and 1.9 x loz6 n m-2 (10 dpa) at 925 K and 1 100 K. The resulting point defect'aggregates were investigated using bright-field and weak-beam dark-field transmission electron microscopy. For the higher dose, faulted interstitial Frank dislocation loops were fou...
متن کاملLOW TEMPERATURE SYNTHESIS OF NANOCRYSTALLINE MgAl2O4 SPINEL VIA SUCROSE PROCESS
Abstract: Nanocrystalline MgAl2O4 spinel powder was synthesized using metal nitrates and a polymer matrix-based composed of sucrose and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The precursor and the calcined powders were characterized by simultaneous thermal analysis (STA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). According to XRD res...
متن کاملNon-contact atomic force microscopy study of hydroxyl groups on the spinel MgAl2O4(100) surface.
Atom-resolved non-contact atomic force microscopy (NC-AFM) studies of the magnesium aluminate (MgAl(2)O(4)) surface have revealed that, contrary to expectations, the (100) surface is terminated by an aluminum and oxygen layer. Theoretical studies have suggested that hydrogen plays a strong role in stabilizing this surface through the formation of surface hydroxyl groups, but the previous studie...
متن کاملNoncontact atomic force microscopy study of the spinel MgAl2O4(111) surface
Based on high-resolution noncontact atomic force microscopy (NC-AFM) experiments we reveal a detailed structural model of the polar (111) surface of the insulating ternary metal oxide, MgAl(2)O(4) (spinel). NC-AFM images reveal a 6√3×6√3R30° superstructure on the surface consisting of patches with the original oxygen-terminated MgAl(2)O(4)(111) surface interrupted by oxygen-deficient areas. The...
