Modeling the Methane Production Kinetics of Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Agricultural Wastes Using Sigmoidal Functions

The modified sigmoidal bacteria growth functions (the Gompertz, logistic, and Richards) were used to evaluate the methane production process kinetics of agricultural wastes. mesophilic anaerobic co-digestion experiments conducted with various wastes as feedstocks, including cow manure, corn straw, grape leaves, vines, wine residue, strawberry tomato leaves. results showed that manure other increased yields while it prolonged lag phase time. Compared Gompertz logistic models, Richards model obtained higher correlation coefficients was able fit experimental data better. this study expected determine a suitable simulate kinetic mixed feedstocks.
