Modeling Retest Effects in Developmental Processes Using Latent Change Score Models

چکیده

Studying development processes, as they unfold over time, involves collecting repeated measures from individuals and modeling the changes time. One methodological challenge in this type of longitudinal data is separating retest effects, due to assessments, developmental processes such maturation or age. In article, we describe several specifications latent change score models using age underlying time metric include parameters account for effects. We illustrate with on fluid reasoning collected children adolescents a cohort-sequential design ranging 6 20 years. Our alternative approaches specify effects at structural measurement level model, an observed covariate. discuss benefits limitations different univariate multivariate context studying processes.

Developmental cognitive neuroscience using latent change score models: A tutorial and applications

Assessing and analysing individual differences in change over time is of central scientific importance to developmental neuroscience. However, the literature is based largely on cross-sectional comparisons, which reflect a variety of influences and cannot directly represent change. We advocate using latent change score (LCS) models in longitudinal samples as a statistical framework to tease apa...

Studying Multivariate Change Using Multilevel Models and Latent Curve Models.

In longitudinal research investigators often measure multiple variables at multiple points in time and are interested in investigating individual differences in patterns of change on those variables. In the vast majority of applications, researchers focus on studying change in one variable at a time. In this article we consider methods for studying relations1.1ips between patterns of change on ...

Modeling Developmental Processes in MGS

Biology has long inspired unconventional models of computation to computer scientists. This chapter focuses on a model inspired by biological development both at the molecular and cellular levels. Such biological processes are particularly interesting for computer science because the dynamic organization emerges from many decentralized and local interactions that occur concurrently at several t...

Trajectory tracking in batch processes using latent variable models ?

The set-point tracking of certain process variable trajectories is often needed for the lower level control in batch processes so as to achieve desirable final product quality for the higher level control. In order to realize trajectory tracking successfully, process models should be known in advance. In fact, process models play an essential role in trajectory tracking. Due to the difficulty f...

Concomitant Variables in Latent Change Models

A basic tenet in modeling preference behavior is that individuals differ in the ways they perceive and evaluate choice options. Latent-class analysis provides a parsimonious and flexible approach to represent these taste differences. This method decomposes a heterogeneous population of decision-makers into several homogeneous classes or subpopulations. Each decision-maker is assigned to one of ...
