چکیده
Background: Pseudomonas aeruginosa keratitis demonstrates an aggressive course, high resistance to antimicrobial therapy, and it also leads a significant reduction of visual acuity. The purpose our study was develop experimental model investigate clinical features corneal lesions in rabbits. Material methods: A total 32 rabbits were divided randomly into three groups. animals the group 1 (8 rabbits) underwent scarification cornea instillation archival strain suspension P. conjunctival sac. In 2 (12 rabbits), de-epithelialization followed by microbial performed. 3 after one-day pathogen, cornea’s surface covered with sterile soft contact lens for 16–24 hours. half (6 lenses bacterial films used as modification. Results: technique I resulted conjunctivitis mild changes all cases. II, development noted animals, being defined moderate nine cases semi-severe three. III, severe purulent occurred 11 12 eyes — one. Four ulcers two abscess recorded, resulting perforations keratomalacia (2 each). Conclusions: Modeling varying severity requires complete deepithelialization segment prolonged presence pathogen on affected surface. effective way keep infectious organisms sufficient concentration is use lenses.

The pathogenesis of bacterial keratitis: studies with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Bacterial keratitis is a sight-threatening corneal disease that is most commonly associated with the extended wear of soft contact lenses. Over the past decade, we have investigated the pathogenesis of infectious keratitis involving the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Our research has focused on understanding the respective roles of bacteria and host in the establishment of this ...
متن کاملGlycyrrhizin Reduces HMGB1 and Bacterial Load in Pseudomonas aeruginosa Keratitis
Purpose High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) contributes to poor disease outcome in Pseudomonas aeruginosa keratitis. This study tests the prophylactic effect of treatment with HMGB1 inhibitors, glycyrrhizin (GLY) and its derivative, carbenoxolone (CBX), for Pseudomonas keratitis. Methods We treated C57BL/6 (B6) mice subconjunctivally with GLY or CBX, infected with a noncytotoxic clinical isolat...
متن کاملThe Healing Effect of Licorice on Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infected Burn Wounds in Experimental Rat Model
BACKGROUND Burn is still one of the most devastating injuries in emergency medicine while improvements in wound healing knowledge and technology have resulted into development of new dressings. This study was undertaken to evaluate the healing effect of licorice in Pseudomonas aeruginosa infected burn wounds of experimental rat model. METHODS One hundred and twenty female Sprague-Dawley rats...
متن کاملExperimental Pseudomonas aeruginosa keratitis in interleukin-10 gene knockout mice.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa keratitis is one of the most destructive diseases of the cornea. The host response to this infection is critical to the outcome. The cytokine interleukin-10 (IL-10) is thought to play an important role in modulating excessive inflammation and antimicrobial defenses. We have found that in IL-10(-/-) mice there is a significant decrease in bacterial load in corneas at 7 day...
