Modeling of a Tandem Solar Cell Structure Based on CZTS and CZTSe Absorber Materials

In this paper, we simulated a double junction cell based on top CdS/Cu2ZnSnS4 cell, stacked bottom CdS/Cu2ZnSnSe4 cell. We started by studying the perfomance of solar copper zinc tin selenide Cu2ZnSnSe4 (CZTSe) absorber. Then, evaluated photovoltaic parameters tandem at optimized thickness sulfide Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) absorber where and cells deliver same photocurrent density. achieved A maximum efficiency 24.68% with an open circuit voltage 1.33 V density 16.54 mA/cm² for thicknesses 413.8 nm 2 µm CZTS CZTSe absorbers, respectively. İn order to improve power conversion efficiency, light trapping effects was studied. The use randomly textured allows reduction its 270 nm. An 24.71% then obtained. Finally, effect replacing toxic CdS buffer ZnS material investigated.
