چکیده
Abstract The ability to accurately model condensing flows is crucial for understanding such in many applications. Condensing of pure steam have been studied extensively the past, and several droplet growth models derived. rationale choice condensation humid air less established. Furthermore, only a few validation cases exist. This paper aims identify existing limitations common laws. Hertz—Knudsen compared heat-transfer-based by Gyarmathy Young, using an Euler—Lagrange approach Ansys Fluent. For this, adaption Young’s law introduced, allowing its application different gas mixtures. numerical has validated applied nozzles turbines previous publications. accuracy investigated transonic nozzle test cases. A case with at two humidity values are considered. Finally, influence humidity, Knudsen number, radius on rate each shown analytically. Flows lower longer zones benefit from higher sensitivity mass fraction water vapor flow. Heat-transfer-based tend overestimate flows. However, empirically adapt Young applicability numbers results good agreement data over wide range

Transonic Shocks in Multidimensional Divergent Nozzles
We establish existence, uniqueness and stability of transonic shocks for steady compressible non-isentropic potential flow system in a multidimensional divergent nozzle with an arbitrary smooth cross-section, for a prescribed exit pressure. The proof is based on solving a free boundary problem for a system of partial differential equations consisting of an elliptic equation and a transport equa...
متن کاملGlobal Uniqueness of Transonic Shocks in Divergent Nozzles for Steady Potential Flows
We show that for steady compressible potential flow in a class of straight divergent nozzles with arbitrary cross-section, if the flow is supersonic and spherically symmetric at the entry, and the given pressure (velocity) is appropriately large (small) and also spherically symmetric at the exit, then there exists uniquely one transonic shock in the nozzle. In addition, the shock-front and the ...
متن کاملA Remark on Determination of Transonic Shocks in Divergent Nozzles for Steady Compressible Euler Flows
In this paper we construct a class of transonic shock in a divergent nozzle which is a part of an angular sector (for two-dimensional case) or a cone (for three-dimensional case) which does not contain the vertex. The state of the compressible flow depends only on the distance from the vertex of the angular sector or the cone. It is supersonic at the entrance, while for appropriately given larg...
متن کاملCollisional energy transfer modeling in non-equilibrium condensing flows
Molecular dynamics and DSMC models for energy transfer in argon dimer argon monomer collisions are compared. The inelastic collision number for these collisions is evaluated, and found to decrease significantly when gas temperature increases.
متن کاملAdaptation of Structured Grid for Supersonic and Transonic Flows
Two distinct redistribution grids - adaptation techniques, spring analogy and elliptic grid generator are applied to two-dimensional steady, inviscid, shocked flows, and the ability of each technique is examined and compared. Euler equations are solved base on Roe's Reimann solver approach to simulate supersonic flow around a sphere, transonic flow about an airfoil and supersonic flow in a symm...
