Model Tests on Cyclic Responses of a Laterally Loaded Pile Considering Sand Anisotropy and Scouring

چکیده
Monopile is a common foundation for offshore wind turbines. Long-term cyclic loading from winds and currents may affect the normal operation of For farms, natural soils are usually inherently anisotropic, scouring often occurs as removal soil around monopile. Their influence on pile behavior seldom studied. To investigate effects anisotropy sand laterally loaded pile, series 1 g model tests conducted, in which three deposition angles sand, two scour depths, amplitudes considered. It was found that monopile sandy soil, accumulated displacements at head increased with depth. The more profound piles smaller amplitude. However, results without did not give consistent tendency factors sand. Based test results, an explicit expression advised to assess long-term residual displacement head, angle depth, incorporated.

Bidimensional Sand Pile Model
In this paper we introduce the Bidimensional Sand Pile Model (BSPM), that is, a generalization of the Sand Pile Model (SPM) with the addition of a further dimension. The SPM and some related models have been studied in many different domains and they play an important role in the theory of discrete dynamical systems. They were considered in the context of integer lattices by Brylawski in 1973. ...
متن کاملA Multi Plane Model for Natural Anisotropy of Sand
Anisotropy of sand is mainly due to the geometrical arrangement of particles that depends on the orientation of applied load respect to the bedding plane. It is geologically due to micro-fabric created by the arrangement of the particles configured during deposition. Most of the models develop using stress/strain invariants are not capable of identifying this kind of anisotropy. This is mainly ...
متن کاملLaterally Loaded Single Pile Response Considering the Influence of Suction and Non-Linear Behaviour of Reinforced Concrete Sections
A hybrid BEM-p-y curves approach was developed for the single pile analysis with free/fixed head restraint conditions. The method considers the soil non-linear behaviour by means of p-y curves in series to a multi-layered elastic half-space. The non-linearity of reinforced concrete pile sections, also considering the influence of tension-stiffening, has been considered. The model reproduces the...
متن کاملOPTIMAL SHAKEDOWN ANALYSIS OF LATERALLY LOADED PILE WITH LIMITED RESIDUAL STRAIN ENERGY
For application of the plastic analysis and design methods the control of the plastic behaviour of the structures is an important requirement. In this study, the complementary strain energy of the residual forces is considered as an overall measure of the plastic performance of the structure. Shakedown theorem for the analysis of the plastic behaviour of the laterally loaded piles is developed ...
