a study on insurer solvency by panel data model: the case of iranian insurance market

the aim of this thesis is an approach for assessing insurer’s solvency for iranian insurance companies. we use of economic data with both time series and cross-sectional variation, thus by using the panel data model will survey the insurer solvency.

Spectral method for a kinetic swarming model

In this paper we present the first numerical method for a kinetic description of the Vicsek swarming model. The kinetic model poses a unique challenge, as there is a distribution dependent collision invariant to satisfy when computing the interaction term. We use a spectral representation linked with a discrete constrained optimization to compute these interactions. To test the numerical scheme...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Large-scale Simulation of the Two-dimensional Kinetic Ising Model

We present Monte Carlo simulation results for the dynamical critical exponent z of the two-dimensional kinetic Ising model using a lattice of size 106×106 spins. We used Glauber as well as Metropolis dynamics. The z-value of 2.16± 0.005 was calculated from the magnetization and energy relaxation from an ordered state towards the equilibrium state at Tc. submitted to Physica A ∗ [email protected]...

Model Reduction in Kinetic Theory

Methods to derive macroscopic transport equations for rarefied gases from the Boltzmann equations are presented. Featured methods include the Chapman-Enskog expansion, Grad’s moment method, and the author’s order of magnitude method. The resulting macroscopic equations are compared and discussed by means of simple problems, including linear stability, shock wave structures, and Couette flow.
