Model predictive control for transient frequency regulation of power networks

چکیده

This paper introduces a control strategy to simultaneously achieve asymptotic stabilization and transient frequency regulation of power networks. The command is generated by iteratively solving an open-loop cost minimization problem with stability constraints. To deal the non-convexity constraint, we propose convexification that uses reference trajectory based on system’s current state. We also employ network partitions implement proposed in distributed way, where each region only requires system information from its own execute controller.

Model Predictive Control of a BCDFIG With Active and Reactive Power Control Capability for Grid-Connected Applications

Recently, Brushless Cascaded Doubly Fed Induction Generator (BCDFIG) has been considered as an attractive choice for grid-connected applications due to its high controllability and reliability. In this paper, a Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) method with active and reactive power control capability in grid-connected mode is proposed for controlling the BCDFIG in a way that...

Flexible Power Regulation of Grid-Connected Inverters for PV Systems Using Model Predictive Direct Power Control

This paper presents a Model Predictive Direct Power Control (MPDPC) strategy for a gridconnected inverter used in a photovoltaic system, as found in many distributed generating installations. The controller uses a system model to predict the system behavior at each sampling instant. Using a cost function, the voltage vector with least power ripple is generated. The resultant voltage vector is a...

Improved Optimization Process for Nonlinear Model Predictive Control of PMSM

Model-based predictive control (MPC) is one of the most efficient techniques that is widely used in industrial applications. In such controllers, increasing the prediction horizon results in better selection of the optimal control signal sequence. On the other hand, increasing the prediction horizon increase the computational time of the optimization process which make it impossible to be imple...
