چکیده

We present a mathematical and numerical framework for thin-film fluid flows over planar surfaces including dynamic contact angles. In particular, we provide algorithmic details an implementation of higher-order spatial temporal discretisation the underlying free boundary problem using finite element method. The corresponding partial differential equation is based on thermodynamically consistent energetic variational formulation energy viscous dissipation in bulk, surface, at moving line. Model hierarchies limits strong weak line are established, implemented studied. analyze performance algorithm investigate impact angle evolution two benchmark problems: gravity-driven sliding droplets instability ridge.

Mixed FEM of higher-order for time-dependent contact problems

In this paper mixed finite element methods of higher-order for time-dependent contact problems are discussed. The mixed methods are based on resolving the contact conditions by the introduction of Lagrange multipliers. Dynamic Signorini problems with and without friction are considered involving thermomechanical and rolling contact. Rothe’s method is used to provide a suitable time and space di...

Higher order multi-point fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions

In this paper, we concerned with positive solutions for higher order m-point nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions. We establish the criteria for the existence of at least one, two and three positive solutions for higher order m-point nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions by using a result from the theory of fixed...

Simulation of Droplet Impact with Dynamic Contact Angle Boundary Conditions

The numerical simulation of dynamic wetting processes is of interest for a vast variety of industrial processes, where practical experiments are costly and timeconsuming. In these simulations, the dynamic contact angle is a key parameter, but the modeling of its behavior is poorly understood so far. In this article, we simulate droplet impact on a dry flat surface by using two different contact...

Mixed Fem of Higher Order for Contact Problems with Friction

This paper presents a mixed variational formulation and its discretization by finite elements of higher-order for the Signorini problem with Tresca friction. To guarantee the unique existence of the solution to the discrete mixed problem, a discrete inf-sup condition is proved. Moreover, a solution scheme based on the dual formulation of the problem is proposed. Numerical results confirm the th...

Adjoint-Based Optimal Control of Time-Dependent Free Boundary Problems

In this paper we show a simplified optimisation approach for free boundary problems in arbitrary space dimensions. This approach is mainly based on an extended operator splitting which allows a decoupling of the domain deformation and solving the remaining partial differential equation. First we give a short introduction to free boundary problems and the problems occurring in optimisation. Then...
