چکیده

A comprehensive study of the co-evolution globular cluster systems (GCS) in galaxies requires ability to model both large scale dynamics (0.01 - 10 kpc) regulating their orbital evolution, and small (sub-pc AU) internal each (GC). In this work we present a novel method that combine semi-analytic models GCS with fully self-consistent Monte Carlo simultaneously evolve GCSs. We use population synthesis code MASinGa MOCCA-Survey Database I create synthetic GC populations aimed at representing observed features GCs Milky Way (MW) Andromeda (M31). Our procedure enables us recover spatial mass distribution such galaxies, constrain amount left either halo as dispersed debris, or galactic centre, where they can contribute formation nuclear star (NSC) bring stellar possibly intermediate black holes there. The final masses reported by our simulations are few order magnitudes smaller than values. These differences show build-up NSC central BHs like MW M31 cannot be solely explained infalling scenario. This is likely depend on interplay between interactions mergers gas. latter in-situ growth BH.

Six New Galactic Orbits of Globular Clusters in a Milky-Way-Like Galaxy

Absolute proper motions for six new globular clusters have recently been determined. This motivated us to obtain the Galactic orbits of these six clusters both in an axisymmetric Galactic potential and in a barred potential, such as the one of our Galaxy. Orbits are also obtained for a Galactic potential that includes spiral arms. The orbital characteristics are compared and discussed for these...

Metal-Poor Globular Clusters of the Milky Way and Environs

We review properties of the most metal-deficient globular clusters and halo stars in the local universe as of March 2001, with goals of examining present evidence for the duration of the initial burst of massive cluster formation in the Milky Way, determining when that burst occurred, and elucidating what appears to be limiting our present understanding. Such issues bear upon many topics to ari...

Detailed abundances from integrated-light spectroscopy: Milky Way globular clusters

Context. Integrated-light spectroscopy at high spectral resolution is rapidly maturing as a powerful way to measure detailed chemical abundances for extragalactic globular clusters (GCs). Aims. We test the performance of our analysis technique for integrated-light spectra by applying it to seven well-studied Galactic GCs that span a wide range of metallicities. Methods. Integrated-light spectra...

The Collision Between The Milky Way And Andromeda

We use an N–body/hydrodynamic simulation to forecast the future encounter between the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxies, given current observational constraints on their relative distance, relative velocity, and masses. Allowing for a comparable amount of diffuse mass to fill the volume of the Local Group, we find that the two galaxies are likely to collide in a few billion years within the ...
