چکیده

Ethnopharmacological relevance: Sclerocarya birrea (A. Rich.) Hochst. (Anacardiaceae) is a medicinal plant known for the treatment of several diseases such as epilepsy, hypertension, inflammation and memory disorders in Cameroonian folk medicine. Aim study: The aim this work to evaluate improvement neuroprotective effects aqueous root bark extracts investigate it antioxidant properties. Materials methods: T-maze object recognition test an open field were used behavioral testing detect its DPPH was predict activities vitro. vivo investigated using Monosodium glutamate induced oxidative stress neurotoxicity mouse model. After testing, animals decapitated brains removed biomarkers determination. Results: decreased preferred arm choice latency time spent discriminated, T-maze. It increased exploration index, explore new B. In addition, superoxide dismutase catalase activities, reduced glutathione level. Conclusion: These results suggest that possess mnemonic mice might involve by free radicals scavenging properties
