Mixed metamorphic and fluid graphite deposition in Palaeoproterozoic supracrustal rocks of the Lewisian Complex, NW Scotland

چکیده
Graphite deposits may form alternatively by metamorphism of sedimentary rocks and from fluids. Both types occur in supracrustal successions within the Lewisian Complex Northwest Scotland, similarly Palaeoproterozoic across North Atlantic region Canada, Greenland Scandinavia. Carbon isotope compositions show that graphite Scotland had a mixed origin organic matter (schists) decarbonation limestones (marbles). Raman spectroscopy shows most exhibits some structural disorder, unlike complete order vein ore region. Exceptionally, where was precipitated fluid, albitized rock Tiree Scardroy, it is fully ordered. While survive granulite facies without being transformed to ordered graphite, can yield commercially more valuable when mobilized fluid.

The Loch Maree Group: Palaeoproterozoic subduction–accretion complex in the Lewisian of NW Scotland
The Lewisian complex of northwest (NW) Scotland has long been correlated with intercontinental Palaeoproterozoic belts of the North Atlantic region but uncertainty about the age and origin of the supracrustal rocks of the Loch Maree Group (LMG) and the apparent lack of subduction-related intrusive rocks have precluded interpretations of a similar tectonic setting for the Lewisian. We present in...
متن کاملDating of Precambrian Metasedimentary Rocks and Timing of their Metamorphism in the Soursat Metamorphic Complex (NW IRAN): Using LA–ICP-MS, U–Pb Dating of Zircon and Monazite
Soursat Metamorphic Complex (SMC) in west of Takab city is one of the polyphase metamorphic terrenes in northern Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic belt of Iran. The SMC composed mainly of metasedimentary rocks associated with granitic intrusions. Based on metamorphic rocks, two metamorphic phases could be separate in the complex. M1 is representative of regional metamorphisms which varies from greens...
متن کاملMineral chemistry and thermobarometry of amphibolites from the Qotur metamorphic complex (West Azerbaijan Providence, NW Iran)
The Qotur metamorphic complex consists of metabasites, gneisses, marbles and calc-silicates as well as serpentinites which is cropped out at the west border of West Azerbaijan and Turkey. The amphibolites from the Qotur metamorphic complex can be classified as two types of ortho- and para-amphibolites. Minerals in this ortho-amphibolite are hornblende, plagioclase, zircon, titanite, and opaque ...

The pre-Eocene Allahyarlu ophiolitic- metamorphic complex is exposd in the core of the Allahyarlu anticline in the northwest of Iran and northeast of Meshginshahr. This complex consists of a variety of schist, gneiss, amphibolite and metadibase rocks with serpentinite and tectonic slices including gabbro, dunit, marble and diabase. Amphibolites can be divided into garnet-free amphibolite and ga...
