Mitochondrial dysfunction and mitophagy: crucial players in burn trauma and wound healing

چکیده

Abstract Burn injuries are a significant cause of death worldwide, leading to systemic inflammation, multiple organ failure and sepsis. The progression burn injury is explicitly correlated with mitochondrial homeostasis, which disrupted by the hyperinflammation induced injury, dysfunction cell death. Mitophagy plays crucial role in maintaining cellular homeostasis selectively removing damaged mitochondria. A growing body evidence from various disease models suggest that pharmacological interventions targeting mitophagy could be promising therapeutic strategy. Recent studies have shown wound healing injury. Furthermore, chemicals also been improve recovery, highlighting potential for novel strategies based on an in-depth exploration molecular mechanisms regulating its association skin healing.

Burn Wound Healing Outcomes

Development of metrics for burn care, including healing of skin wounds during the acute phase of treatment, is essential in an environment of decreasing resources and increasing interest in quality and accuracy of medical information. Advantages of consensus metrics include: tracking of trends in care; consistency of care; and correlation of treatment with medical outcomes. For cutaneous burn w...

Bioenergetic failure, mitochondrial dysfunction and mitophagy

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short, 22–25 nucleotide long transcripts that may suppress entire signaling pathways by interacting with the 3’-untranslated region (3’-UTR) of coding mRNA targets, interrupting translation and inducing degradation of these targets. The long 3’-UTRs of brain transcripts compared to other tissues predict important roles for brain miRNAs. Supporting this notion, we found th...

eview ssessment of burn depth and burn wound healing

The depth of a burn wound and/or its healing potential are the most important determinants of the therapeutic management and of the residual morbidity or scarring. Traditionally, burn surgeons divide burns into superficial which heal by rapid re-epithelialization with minimal scarring and deep burns requiring surgical therapy. Clinical assessment remains the most frequent technique to measure t...
