چکیده
Abstract A multiscale coupled model is presented that allows for the detailed analysis of local impact urban heat island mitigation measures. The uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations with unsteady and moisture transport (HAM) in porous materials order to take into account dynamic storage built environment. realistic case study performed a public square City Zurich during wave conditions. impacts two different strategies, i.e. adding artificial wetting pavements vegetation, on pedestrian thermal comfort are evaluated compared existing situation. results show an improvement both resulting from addition trees larger lasts longer due shadowing effects, even though reduced ventilation increased relative humidity by have adverse effect comfort.

Urban Heat Island: Causes, Effects and Mitigation Measures - A Review
High temperature in the city centers than its’ surroundings known as the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, which is causing discomfort to the urban dwellers in the summer time is gaining much attention around the world because the world is getting urbanized as it advances in technology. Alterations of surface area, improper urban planning, air pollution, etc. are causing this increasingly growing...
متن کاملThe urban heat island Mitigation Impact Screening Tool (MIST)
A web-based screening tool has been developed to assist urban planners and air quality management officials in assessing the potential of urban heat island mitigation strategies to affect the urban climate, ozone air quality, and energy consumption within their cities. The user of the screening tool can select from any of over 200 US cities for which to conduct the analysis. The mitigation stra...
متن کاملThe Influence of Urban Street Characteristics on Pedestrian Heat Comfort Levels in Philadelphia
This article describes relationships between selected physical characteristics of urban streets and pedestrianlevel heat. It also identifies conditions that are particularly vulnerable to the summer heat. Field measurements of ambient temperatures 1 m above the ground were collected over sidewalks, green spaces, and parking lots in high density commercial and residential areas. Panel autoregres...
متن کاملUrban Heat Island Characterization with Airborne Thermal Infrared Hyperspectral Imaging
The higher concentration of man-made objects like asphalt pavement and concrete structures within urban areas lead to the formation of subareas known as urban heat islands (UHI), where the ambient temperature is significantly higher. Having a good understanding of this problem is critical for better urban development. Thermal infrared (TIR, 8-12 μm) remote sensing is often used to localize UHI....
متن کاملThe mitigation effect of configuration and context optimization of urban holdings on heat island
The urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon has become a serious problem in recent years. It is necessary to study the mitigation methods and quantify their effects on UHI. In this paper, based on the remote sensed data, an empirical model was established as a negative function of land surface temperature (LST) to vegetation coverage. Urban heat island intensity (UHII) was estimated by a robust stat...
