چکیده

Transformation of lignocellulosic biomass into high-value chemicals is a viable strategy for sustainable development bio-based economy. 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) one potential platform bio-chemicals the manufacture various renewable products. In this work, commercial H-ZSM-5 zeolite was used as starting material preparing series acid catalysts with bifunctionality direct dehydration glucose to HMF in biphasic water/tetrahydrofuran system. The pristine mildly dealuminated by refluxing dilute nitric solutions adjust its properties. Although treatment slightly altered elemental composition, textural properties, and morphology zeolite, total acidity distribution sites were significantly modified. Some non-framework aluminum (Al) oxide clusters removed from parent simultaneously partial hydrolysis zeolitic framework. An increased fraction coordinatively unsaturated framework Al species enhanced number Lewis sites. Using 0.1 M solution provided suitable catalyst (0.1DeAl.H-ZSM-5), giving conversion yield >99% 64.7%, respectively, good reusability under optimized reaction conditions. These results show industrial proposed method simple but efficient preparation producing via catalytic glucose.

Optimization of Production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural from Glucose in a Water: Acetone Biphasic System

5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is considered to be an important building block for biorefineries and has a high potential for the production of chemicals and fuels. Production of HMF from glucose was studied using phosphoric acid as catalyst, in a water:acetone system with volume ratio of 1:2 and NaCl. An experimental design was applied to examine the influence of temperature, time and concentra...

Solvent Polarity-Induced Pore Selectivity in H-ZSM-5 Catalysis

Molecular-sized micropores of ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts provide spatial restrictions around catalytic sites that allow for shape-selective catalysis. However, the fact that ZSM-5 has two main pore systems with different geometries is relatively unexploited as a potential source of additional shape selectivity. Here, we use confocal laser-scanning microscopy to show that by changing the polarity o...

ZSM-5 Zeolite As Host Material for Semiconductor Nanoparticles

This work describes the optical and structure properties of nickel sulfide and cobalt sulfide nanoparticles in ZSM-5 zeolite. The samples were obtained by sulfidation of the Ni2+ and Co2+ ion-exchange ZSM-5 zeolites in a Na2S solution at room temperature. The optical properties of the samples were studied by UV-visible spectroscopy. Their crystalline structure and morphology were studied by X-r...

High-pressure cation-exchange treatment of a ZSM-5 zeolite

ZSM-5 zeolite is an aluminosilicate that usually has a high silica-to-alumina ratio. It contains two sets of nanopores. One set of nanopores is straight, with the cross-sectional size of 5.3 5.6 Å; the other set is Sshaped, with the cross-sectional size of 5.2 5.5 Å. An A1 atom at the center of an AlO4 tetrahedron connects to adjacent SiO4 tetrahedron by sharing an O atom and thus generates a n...
