‘Miguang’ Grape Response to Pergola and Single-Curtain Training Systems

Background and Aims: Grapevine shoot growth light utilization are typically adjusted through the use of canopy management strategies that adapted to local climate. In this study, we analyze effects a pergola (PER) single-curtain training system (SCT) on microclimate, interception, photosynthetic capacity, assimilate distribution ‘Miguang’ grape in rainy region China. Methods Results: We measured spectral absorptance, leaf area, chlorophyll content, rate, soluble sugar starch content per cane, berry weight, solids, titratable acid content. SCT produced higher photon flux density cluster region, absorptance 450–800 nm wavelength range, larger area middle node leaves. It lower basal top leaves areas. At expansion (E-L-31) veraison (E-L-35), net capacity from base nodes was with than PER, near reduced SCT. harvest period, rate were PER. The assimilates fruit addition, internode length fourth sixth nodes, it diameter internode. Conclusions: significantly improved cluster, promoted fruit, decreased vegetative growth, increased size primary shoot, nodes. Significance Study: results study can provide relevant theoretical basis technical support for management.
