چکیده
Site U1501 of International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 368 locates on a broad regional basement high in the northern margin South China Sea (SCS). This study refines chronostratigraphy upper 160 m sedimentary succession from Hole U1501C using paleomagnetic measurements and cyclostratigraphic analysis Natural Gamma Radiation (NGR) data. Rock magnetic displays that signal sediments is mainly carried by single-domain (SD) multi-domain (MD) magnetite. A total 12 geomagnetic reversals are identified correlated to polarity time scale (GPTS) Geologic Time Scale 2020 (GTS 2020), combining biostratigraphic data planktonic foraminiferal oxygen records. The Milankovitch cycles 405-kyr long orbital eccentricity, ∼100-kyr short obliquity NGR profile. 15.54 Myr astronomical constructed tuning eccentricity filtered profiles La2010 solution with constraints magnetostratigraphic results, age datum new high-resolution model provides temporal constraint tectonic paleoenvironmental evolution Sea.

متن کاملMesoscale eddies in the northern South China Sea
A fine-grid resolution model with realistic bathymetry and forcing has been developed to study the characteristics of the mesoscale eddies for the northern South China Sea (SCS). The SCS model derives its open-boundary conditions from a larger-scale model, which minimizes errors related to the uncertainty of the Kuroshio intrusion at the open boundaries. The model results are consistent with pr...
