Microtiter assay for interferon: microspectrophotometric quantitation of cytopathic effect.
This report describes an accurate, reproducible, and efficient microassay for human interferon, using a dye-uptake method to quantitate cytopathogenicity. The antiviral activity was measured by using a Gilford 300-N microsepctrophotometer, with the automatic programmer, sampler, and data lister. Two hundred interferon samples, each in a final volume of 1.0 ml, may be analyzed and recorded in 45...
متن کاملAutomated, quantitative cytopathic effect reduction assay for interferon.
A rapid, cytopathic effect reduction assay for human interferon (IFN) is described. Dilutions of IFN were made with an automated diluter in 96-well microtiter plates. Total incubation time was 26 h. IFN titers were calculated from optical density readings of crystal violet-stained monolayers in an automated spectrophotometer, which required less than 1 min to read each plate.
متن کاملMicrotiter plate immunoenzymometric assay for estrogen receptor.
The estrogen receptor (ER) status of breast cancer is used both as a prognostic factor and as a predictor of response to endocrine therapy. An immunoenzymometric assay for ER was developed on 96-well microtiter plates (EIA96). This technique involves two monoclonal antibodies directed against different epitopes in the B domain of ER. The two-step protocol (16-18 h and 3 h at 4 degrees C) requir...
متن کاملMicrotiter dish biofilm formation assay.
Biofilms are communities of microbes attached to surfaces, which can be found in medical, industrial and natural settings. In fact, life in a biofilm probably represents the predominate mode of growth for microbes in most environments. Mature biofilms have a few distinct characteristics. Biofilm microbes are typically surrounded by an extracellular matrix that provides structure and protection ...
متن کاملMicrotiter Immunocyto- chemical ELISA Assay
Quantitative assessment of immunoreactivity and protein expression in cultured cells can be time-consuming and subjective. The problem is magnified when rapid and efficient screening is required, and the supply of cells is limited. Immunoblot analysis requires protein extraction, quantification of protein content and gel electrophoresis, which make the method impractical for evaluating multiple...
