Microstructure Investigation of Thermally Induced Phase Transformation in Fe–Mn– Mo–Si Alloys

In this study, structural and crystallographic properties of phase transformations in Fe–Mn– Mo–Si (Mn = 15.14 wt.% 18.45 wt.%) alloys were investigated. The effects heat treatment temperature on microstructure investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) Metallurgical (MM). addition to this, revealed using Transmission (TEM) X–Ray Diffraction (XRD) methods. the samples subjected at 750 C, it was observed that bainite structure formed alloy where Mn amount low ferrite higher. addition, found both heat–treated 900 C had same (pearlite structure) SEM MM microscopy. At time, observations pearlite structures contain a mixture cementite. TEM studies electron diffraction pattern analyses crystallized b.c.c. cementite orthorhombic structure. → type transformation for –bainite formation, orientation relationship as 〖(1 ̅11)〗_//〖(011)〗_ , 〖[101]〗_//〖[1 ̅11 ̅]〗_.
