چکیده

Aircraft skin and stringer elements are typically fabricated from 2xxx 7xxx series high strength aluminum alloys. A single friction stir welding (FSW) pass using a specially designed tool with shoulder/pin diameter ratio (D/d) of 3.20 is used to produce dissimilar T-butt welds between AA2024-T4 AA7075-T6 alloys at constant travel speed 50 mm/min different rotational speeds 400, 600 800 rpm. The the stringer. Sound joints produced without macro defects in both weld top surfaces joint corners all (400, 600, rpm). hardness value nugget zone increases by increasing 150 ± 4 Hv 400 rpm 167 3 rpm, while decreases reach as-received (132 Hv) Joint efficiency along exhibits higher values than that Four morphologies precipitates were detected (SZ); irregular, almost-spherical, spherical rod-like. Investigations electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD) technique showed significant grain refinement sir T-welds compared due dynamic recrystallization. size reduction percentages 85 90 % for AA2024 AA7075 regions mixed zone, respectively. Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar AA2024-AA6061 joints

In the present study, to resolve the problems in fusion welding methods as well as to increase the strength, FSW method was used to join aluminum alloy sheets 6061 and 2024. Moreover, optimal parameters for joining of these two alloys were also taken into consideration. Various tool rotation speeds of 565, 950 and 1500 rpm were selected. For each tool rotation speed, two traverse speed variable...

Effect of Heat Input on Tensile Properties of Friction Stir Welded AA6061-T6 and AA7075-T6 Dissimilar Aluminum Alloy Joints

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid state process widely used to join dissimilar aluminium alloys. High quality and strength joints can be fabricated using this technique when compared to other conventional methods. The welding parameters play major role in determining the quality of the weld. This paper aims in presenting the effect of heat input on tensile properties of the joints between ...

Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welded copper / 316L stainless steel dissimilar metals

In the present research, friction stir welding (FSW) process was used for butt joining of pure copper plate to 316L stainless steel plate. Mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the joint were evaluated by microhardness and tensile tests as well as optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that microstructure of the weld nugget (WN) has fine grains where...
